What are you crying about?

I can't quit crying today... I have missed my boys, but I am happy they will be home tomorrow... today is really the only day I have had time to let it get to me.
I am not sure if I am crying because it seems like they have been gone an eternity and I really miss them, or that they are coming home and my clean house will once again return to looking like boys live here (I finally got some inspiration to clean, but it took me two days to even put a dent in all the grime and guck).

It kind of feels like I just don't want them to come home yet, because it puts me a week closer to the reality of the teenagers mission application.  I am so excited for him, but I don't want it to come yet.

Feel the rain...

♫ Release your inhibitions ...Feel the rain on your skin ...No one else can feel it for you ...Can speak the words on your lips ...Live your life with arms wide...Today is whereyour book begins ♫
It's been a crazy week for weather... I got caught out in a down pour the other day.  But it felt sooo good!  I actually took the dog for a walk in it when I got home (knowing I could come home and do the whole bubble bath afterwards).  It was like we were the only ones on earth, we had the streets to ourselves.  I LOVE the rain!!
I love the cleansing power of rain, and I love how green the world looks after a drink of rain.  I can hear myself think in the quiet of the rain.  And yet somehow the rain helps me not to over think.  It calms me, my head is clear, refreshed.  Ready for all the uncertainty of the days and weeks ahead.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain".

Some things...

Just some things I've noticed at home without any boys in the house.
  1. The toilet seat is always down :)  (The teenager is well trained, but the strong silent mysterious man... well in the middle of the night he must revert back or something, because this morning I found myself in the dark searching to put it down...  nice surprise that it was already in place.
  2. I am not the one using up all the glasses.  (Someone must be getting a new glass for every drink, there is always a dishwasher load of glasses for only three of us).
  3. It's quiet.
  4. No guitar playing :(
  5. The TV isn't constantly blaring :)
  6. I don't hang up my coat when nobody is watching either... oooops.
  7. Getting the mail is not as big of a thrill as I thought.
  8. Sustaining someone in their callings at church really is a big deal, no matter how small you think the job might be. (I am covering one of Jim's jobs to lock and unlock the donation trailer everyday... there is so much more to it than that).
  9. Cooking for one... nice / Empty seats at the table... glad that's only temporary.
  10. After further testing... the results are final, My Strong Silent Mysterious Man IS the cover hog!

You've got to MOVE IT, MOVE IT...

  • Who doesn't start tapping your toe when you hear that tune?
  • I watched Madagascar 2 with Jacob this weekend.  It's stuck on my brain still.
  • It's been my motivational song so far this week.
  • I had huge choice hurdles to get over and so far so good!
  • Yesterday morning the boys left for a job in Montana for a week.
  • I knew I would be home alone... well as alone as you get with 3 pesky dogs, that freak out when someone leaves for an extended period of time (clingy puppies)   :)
  • I had the choice to be a lazy bum all week since I wouldn't have to cook or clean or pick up after anyone at home, and eat without anyone wanting some of what I have, or asking if "I should be eating that or not", go to bed early and depressed and do basically nothing.
  • Or I could choose to plan some healthy "ME" time to get back on track and have a week under my belt and be in a groove when the boys got home, and maybe get a few projects done, and have a nice quiet bubble bath to two or three and paint my toe nails.
  • I DECIDED to "move it, move it"!
  • Yay!  What a good feeling this morning after a day of good eating and some exercise, it almost wasn't even hard to get out and take the dog for a walk this morning at dark-thirty (not a fan of daylight savings time).
  • But my body is wondering WHAT IS GOING ON???
  • Mind, Body and Spirit... that will be my focus this week, because it CAN be!
  • ♫ You've Got to MOVE IT!! ♫
