Sunrise...

One of my favorite times of the day.... Sunrise!

A new beginning, another gift every single day... what a gift from God.

My Eternal Companion...

I got this email from my Strong Silent Mysterious Man today that included this...
"hi"

It is the sweetest thing ever! He is not really technologically advanced so to take a picture and email it to me with a note (most of his emails just have something in the subject line and no msg) is really over the top for him!
It is akin to me going to the post office to mail a package!
So much effort went into it, that you know it was totally from the heart, because it probably gave him a migraine trying to get it done!!
.
I just love him more everyday!

Grandma and Grandpa come to town part 3...

After dinner Friday night we went back to Lucille and Waynes house, and Jim brought out the guitar so G&G could play us some music!

They said they were a little rusty, but they got right back in the swing of things quickly and were taking requests!

Egg suckin' dawg is always a favorite!

It is priceless entertainment, we all enjoy! I love that Jim's family is so musical. My family is but somehow I missed that gene!

Jim was thrilled that his Dad got to play his Taylor!
He really made it sing!

Then we got to skype with Aunt Connie and Uncle Bill on a mission in Mexico and wish her a happy birthday and rave about her birthday cheesecake we enjoyed without her!

It was such a fun time, we really enjoyed getting to see everyone and especially G&G for even just a quick visit!

We have to do it more often!!!

Grandma and Grandpa come to town part 2...

(Sorry I am so slow getting this posted)
Friday Night while Grandma and Grandpa were here, they took us all out to dinner.

Jim, remember the picky eater in the family... chose the Japanese steak house. As picky as he is, he loves their food. Maybe it has something to do with being able to see what they do to it??
(if that is it, he is welcome to come into my kitchen... I will put him to work, but he can see everything he eats up close and personal...he he he)
It was quite a group...
Grandma and Granpa Dayley...

Aunt Fay and Uncle Gene...

Aunt Cathy, Uncle Tom, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Lucille!

And check out G&G... eating with chopsticks!
Pretty cultured for a boy from Parma and a girl from Pawhuska!
Who knew...
One of the funnies for the night is they asked (since we were such a big party) if we were celebrating a birthday? And since it was their sister Connie's birthday, they said yes, but were unsuccessful in communicating that the birthday girl was in Mexico!
(yes gramps is good with chopsticks, but his Japanese is a little rusty)

So we got a piece of cheesecake with a candle and sang happy birthday to Connie! Lucille acted in proxy for her, and blew out the candle.

And we passed it around for everyone to have a bite!

It was a very fun dinner, with lots of good food, great family and what a way to top it off with birthday cheesecake!

Grandma and Grandpa came to town Part 1...

On Friday we went out to have lunch with Jim in Parma at his favorite taco stand.
Grandpa got to take a quick tour and see where Jim is working, he is a retired engineer from Boeing, so he loved every minute getting so see all the big motors and equipment they use to work on them.

Then we picked up some of the "famous tacos" and took them to the park. It was nice to have some quiet time to visit with them alone. Jim didn't want to leave to go back to work.
Grandpa showed us the house where he lived when he was younger.
And the railroad track crossing where he was hit by the train.

I will try and get him to write the story down.... he has shown me pictures from when he was recovering from the accident... and now we have a picture of the tracks... so I think it will warrant an entire post with his story one of these days.It was so fun to hear him talk about that time in his life. He didn't remember the house being that small and it was white when they lived there. Can you imagine 12 children in this little thing?
.
It was a really nice afternoon with them.
.
To be continued....
