Cowgirl Up...

My strong silent mysterious man got tickets from one of his clients to Owyhee County Rodeo last night. So I dusted off a cowboy hat and boots, and was so excited! The drive out there, I am sure I began channeling Annie Oakley... I manage to keep it in check, but in my heart, I just don't think a girl can have enough western wear... and now with all the "bling".... oh so fun!! The boys wouldn't gear up with me though... I think this is a clear indication that have failed as a mother... boys not excited to go to the rodeo! What?

I think they had fun even though they acted like I was a complete embarassment to them before we left the house.

It was "Tough enough for Pink" night, pink. Seeing cowboy who is not too tough to wear pink... oh melt my heart! An arena full of them... wow!!!!!

The clown had a little assistant in training... he was adorable, but I was seriously worried he was going to be trampled at ever pull of the gate. But he was pretty quick on his feet.

Hey, surprise... I knew one of the contestants running for Rodeo Queen this year.... it made it so fun to watch their equestrian contest. Good Luck Natalie!!

Hey, we know this guy behind the scenes too! We saw you working hard back there... I was soooo happy not to see you on one of those bulls Josh! I don't think I could have handled it... it is hard enough to think you let your babies go out strapped to the back of a sheep for the "mutton busting". They must have your tough cowboy blood... that was heart wrenching for me to watch too! But none of them seemed any worse for the wear when it was all said and done.
The teenager ran into some of his friends too! Dad teased him for having his own "entourage" everywhere we go.... so funny! But he does seem to know someone everywhere we go.

It was fun to get out and I think a good time was had by all! I know I loved every minute of it!!!
It was my first rodeo in Idaho... I know! 6 years and not one rodeo... but I am back in the groove, feeling like I should do all my clothes shopping at the local D&B (agriculture supply store). And adding a new pair of boots to my Christmas list this year!

Let it rain...

Ahhhhh!!! Let the rain come!!!

What sweet relief from the dry, dusty, hot, everything is dying, and I am dehydrating in the desert feeling... the rain is here today!

Rain makes me soooo happy!!!
Even having to put up with muddy dog feet... I am so happy to have the rain!!!

I think the puppies like the rain as much as I do.... they just want to be out in it. My strong silent mysterious man is pretty happy about the rain too... maybe some of his clients will not be in such a hurry to get their work back now with a break from the rain... yeah!

The only sad one at our house is the golfer... but don't feel too badly for him. He still plays golf in the rain, it just means he has to clean all his clubs when he is is done. More work, but it doesn't slow him down at all.

The Harry Flick...

It was not my idea to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince last night... but you would never know it from these guys faces. It looks like I was dragging the whole way.
I am gone for a week, and all of a sudden they get "tudes" when I ask for a self portrait. What is up with that?
The movie was good, I couldn't go great on my rating maybe because I was too tired to take it all in... and I have never ever liked the endings leaving you hanging... I know it's the point, but jeeze all that excitement and suspense and still so little progress. Ugggg!!!!!
I might have to watch it again to appreciate it more.
When we left the theatre the blackest clouds I have ever see were moving in. I never could catch it on film, but the lightning was spectacular!
It's supposed to bring in some cooler weather the next couple of days! I can't wait!!!

A missionary moment...

Last week the missionaries asked Jacob to go out on some visits with them. He was pretty excited to go out with them.
And even more excited when he came home... I was relieved to hear him say "I can't wait to go on a mission". Music to my ears.
