Sick Day...

I finally gave myself permission to stay on the couch and rest to keep from getting any sicker. The teenager had the day off from school, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to let him take care of me, and he did a fine job of it.
He even offered this fine entertainment to make me laugh! I just love this kid!!!

Gunner get em...

You might remember Gunner (yes he's looking right at me... the wandering visionary pooch), he belongs to one of my clients. I went over to his house this morning to break the ice in his water outside, and feed and play with him while his owner is in the hospital having surgery.
Oh, how Gunner loves to play fetch. He will play and play and play until your arm falls off, and then he would bring you your arm back too!
I thought to bring him a bone treat, and left him with that when I had to leave... he really liked it. He has the best attitude, he doesn't bark, he loves to play really hard, he is obedient, and other than the wandering eye thing, and being a big clod, he is just about perfect. Maybe when Taylor grows up, she might like to have Gunner over as a boyfriend date.

Oh Boy...

My Blog Creativity might be just enough knowledge to be dangerous...
I'm not really happy with some of the changes trying to get more color into my life, but I will keep searching for ideas and inspiration to tap into my creative side and make it better!
Not feeling so creative, it's really limited by my html knowledge.... uggg!

Update on Family Night...

A follow up on all the excitement of the Family Night preparations of my teenager...

After all the instruction he was conducting Family Home Eveing this week, and the excitement and secrecy on Sunday afternoon that followed that announcement. The teenager came to me about 10 minutes before we normally begin and tells me he can't do it.... the all important lesson and activity he was working on was on his computer and it froze, and he can't get it going.

So at the last minute, I needed to come up with a new plan... I am less panicky about this than I used to be. Because Family Home Evening was one of the principles that we practiced during our separation, that helped bring our family back together again... I take it pretty seriously. I means allot to me, and I hold it in high in priority... it is most important to have it, but while we are all held captive, we might as well learn something to help us in our lives to improve upon while we are together, right?

I went with the scripture from The Book of Mormon, Mosiah 5:15

Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen

There is a new Theme for the Youth Group in our church each year... and this is the 2008 theme. They will learn and study and practice in activities and lessons what it means to be "Steadfast and Immovable, always abounding in good works".

So I thought this would be appropriate to introduce to our teenager and talk about what it means to him, and how we can all resolve to be Steadfast and Immovable in the Gospel. The benefits and blessings of being Steadfast and Immovable. We found many many examples of those who are Steadfast and Immovable in the Bible, and talked about those examples in our own lives. And we discussed ways we can become Steadfast and Immovable.

We want to build our lives in such a manner that they are built upon a strong foundation, one in which is solid as a rock. Like the rock of our redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, so that when trials and temptations come our way, they will have no power over us. We will have a sure foundation to rely on, and we will not fall.

SPT ~ Self Portrait Tuesday ~ A closer Look...

A Closer Look...

Most recently I have taken a closer look at water...

Trying to improve my health, drinking more of it plays a big part. I am becoming much more aware about the water I drink. Some bottled water does actually taste better than others. It affects how my organs inside function. It even plays a part in how much energy I have.

Trying to improve my habits, showering in water... it does much much more than just help get me clean. It helps with my body temperature, it can change my mood, it aids with sore muscles, it has given me a different kind of bonding time with the new puppy in our house.
And speaking of the puppy... water has been a focus in either keeping her out of it. Or cleaning it up off the floor when she attempts to drink it. The big Drool face.
I have thought about the blessings of water, to have it in our home everyday... to wash dishes in our automatic washer, and clothes in our automatic washer, to turn on a faucet and have clean clear water, hot or cold right at our finger tips.
I have thought allot about my nephews serving missions in Chilie, and Brazil and the condition of the water they have to drink or wash in.
I have thought about it enough to try and keep it on my list of things I am grateful for everyday. So God knows I am appreciative and maybe I can keep the blessing of water in my life if I don't take it for granted.

"Precious" Pup...

We stopped by Aunt Fay and Uncle Gene's house this weekend, and met her new little puppy, "Precious".
And she is a fireball, but precious as can be!

Harley is there other pup, a little older and a little wiser, but still just a pup himself.
He loves Precious and teaches her all the new rules around the house.

Aunt Fay really loves this little girl... and her and Gene seem to be doing well and still serving in callings at the Family History Center her, through rain, snow, and sleet... they are so diligent in their jobs there.
It was fun to see them and visit.
