Preparation for Auburn Good Ol' Days

My nephew has a booth on Saturday for his new State Farm Company
at Auburn Good Ol' Days. So we have been busy helping pull things together
for him to get set up.
We did iron on transfers for the shirts...everyone is in his logo color red.
We picked up balloons, and big Costco size bags of candy to pass out to the kids,
we made posters for his giveaway (Seahawk tickets for the Raiders Game... cool), and
made the cards for people to fill out, and the box to put the cards in.
Note to Hubby, it was another day of work for me.
2J's is going to wear the "Good Neigh-Bear" costume, so he
has been working on all his animated moves.
We got just a preview with his game face on, he is a little shy
and wouldn't do the moon walk or anything, but he might
break into the macarena when he gets the feet on today.

Not all play and no work....

Hubby is harrassing me thinking I am sleeping in and playing all day long while I am in Seattle... I just want him to know, I am getting some work done while I am here.

I picked blackberries... that is really hard work, and pokey!
But the results are yummy!
I made Molasses Drop Cookies... okay it was not such hard work but the results are super yummy! I was Queen for the day, everyone loved them!

And I painted Mom's Kitchen and office area...
It was hard work, lots of nooks and cranny's in her kitchen to paint around...
It is hard to see in the pictures, but the new color is a sage green,
the old was kind of faded off white, and the rest of the house is white.
My Dad had all kinds of comments during the process... "that looks streaked, are you sure you like the color, I can't see what you painted, it's not going on even, it still looks streaked". But he was right in there helping me pull the tape off when I was done. I think he likes it! He asked if I would do the whole house. "Not today Dad!"

Sightseeing in Seattle...

We have had so much fun sightseeing in Seattle... probably not something we would normally do on a visit to see my family, but my Mom's cousin is visiting from South Carolina and we have really enjoyed taking her to see all the neat places here with Mom. I feel guilty being the tag along, be we have laughed and laughed, they don't seem to mind. It is so refreshing to renew my memories of the beauty here in the northwest.
My brother and his wife took us out to dinner and he let 2J's try some of his crab legs... much to my surprise he loves crab legs now, and asks everywhere we go, if they have crab legs.
I knew just the place to get crab legs... one of my favorite places.
Pike Place Market.

Yes, 2J's was drawn right into the crab legs... but we didn't buy any.
We decided it would be much more fun, to have someone prepare them for us.
he he he... well I decided, with much protest from him.

I definately can' grow them like this in my garden.
Fabulous!!!

The Seattle Aquarium was another favorite site....

Dora and Nemo are doing great!

A petting pond... no thanks!

It really was more fun than 2J's makes it look....
he was getting a little camera fatigue.

Speaking of fatigue... some of the animals were a little sleepy,
even my favorite mischievous otters.

they are pretty easy to get a shot of when they are fat and lazy...

We also visited the Glass Art Museum in Tacoma...
They made some amazing glass pieces right in front of our eyes...

Of course we HAD to stop into See's Candies. Just for Auntie in Utah!
Don't worry sis there is no scary chocolate mail on the way to you, but we found
Scotch Kisses to take home to hubby... I hope they make it that far!!
A special treat to go to the top of the Space Needle!
More pics from the top...
We found a new favorite spot I had never been to before that overlooks the Tacoma Narrows Bridge... You know how I love bridges!!
And "bonus"... there's a beach!! A great thinking spot!!
Hubby will love the driftwood I am sneaking home on the plane to him.
And heavy luggage just doesn't live up to it's name without a few rocks in it.

We had to stop at the boy scout office... it is also a magnificent bldg with awesome totem poles!!
Every thing's a joke to this character :)

Sis took us to PF Chang's! My new favorite place to eat!!
2J's loved it even though they didn't have crab legs.
They did live up to all their hype!!

Another Day to Go Out and Play...

We met some of our good friends from Georgia, Royce and Katie and ate breakfast at the Black Diamond Bakery. They have the best food, and all their homemade breads are amazing!!
I managed to get out without buying one of every kind to bring home.
My favorite is their cinnamon bread, Yummy Cinnamon toast.

This was a neat site on the way out to Black Diamond... an Eagle landing in his nest.

Well he looked real from the road... still pretty cool!!
I want one of these for the entrance into my estate... what do you think Jim?

Lynn's favorite place to shop for shoes... Nordstrom!
Adam is now our favorite shoe guy in Seattle, he had such a fun personality!
Who knew shopping for shoes could be so much fun, we bonded and by the time
we left, he was giving out hugs! We have that affect on people ~ feel the Love!!

I had never been to Cheesecake Factory ~ so Lynn took us for dinner.
Sadly the food wasn't really anything to write home about.... and they were so slow serving us, that we ran out of time to get a piece of cheesecake.
The one's they walked by with every 2 1/2 seconds looked amazing, so I may have to go back for the cheesecake some day.

ANNUAL KITE DAY 2007!!!!

My Sis n Law's family get together for Kite Day every year at Fort Casey, and we were so fortunate to be in town and get to go.

Now there are a few rules my brother clued us in on for kite day...
1) No crying on kite day
2) Eat and be happy on kite day
3) Everyone flyes a kite on kite day

I LOVE KITE DAY!!!

1st Pack up the food...

"the chocolate cake rides up front with me...

It was a long ride to Fort Casey... but the sites on Whidbey Island
were neat to see.

Brother is the master at getting all the kites up in the air...
Kite day is not without it's troubles...
But it is all worth while...
The 9ft Delta kite was my favorite... stellar!!

The lighthouse at Fort Casey...
Brother Ralph and his wife Panda... both keepers.
Oh a kite flying we will go... 15 in the air at one time.
Jacob finally gets the dragon in the air...
Even Buni had fun at kite day...
Okay, it didn't seem dangerous at the time, but this picture
makes it seem like there were stings everywhere... oh yeah there not strings, there lines!
Gotta get the terminology right on kite day.
On the way home we stoped for a kodak moment on the bridge at Deception Pass...
This is not for the squimish!!
Wilma can you get out a little farther on the bridge? No,
this is good....
It was beautiful, and a good time was had by all...

I love the City...

Did I mention I loved the City... I got some quick shots from the car going to the stadium on Friday.

I love this City!!

If you use your imagination ~ this is accross the street from Pioneer Station... okay I was on the wrong side of the car... now I have to go back to the City to get better pictures.

I love the details on the buildings and all the flowers.

And they are not all square buildings either...

The traffic I could leave...

The Smith Tower is one of my favorites... it was bette when Ivar got to fly his company flag from it... the big fish.

Eeeeewwwwww! the new Four Seasons... the view from here is magnifisent!!
and they will have million dollar 600 sq ft condos to purchase on the top two
floors.

This view is actually from the top of the stadium... I love the ferries!

This is where Sis works!

More hustle and bustle...
