July Visiting Teaching...

I haven't had time to do anything creative all summer.
So when I saw the idea of this holder made from card stock back in June, I began putting together something to take in July to the sisters I visit teach. It was a work in progress, and I know lots of ladies that make something every month, and get creative all the time.  But my poor sisters well... it might only be an annual thing, but this one was really fun and such a cute idea.  I am so grateful for other bloggers who share their craftiness and creativity.
I started with some cute red, white and blue card stock.
And after a month working on it here and there, I finally got them cut and sewn together and embellished with a few red paper beads I learned to make for a girls camp activity.
I was able to get a few free photo prints, so I added one of the quotes from the lesson to the Twin Falls Temple picture.  Since our closest temple is closed, and the youth are encouraged to keep a picture of the temple close to them or in there rooms... I thought we all needed one close to us or on our fridge, or in our scriptures right?
And I found a few more cute things over the month and it kind of grew a little, but was so fun.
All of us were either traveling (or have someone traveling in our lives) so I really loved the laminated luggage tags... it just fit the whole group.  The nail file, well you can never find one at my house, I think the boys use them as tools or something.  So the summer beachy themed ones caught my eye and came in the perfect number in a pack to share.

And the message of the Temple was so perfect and applied in all of our lives.  Each one of us are going through some changes and major milestones and memories (empty nest, missionaries, weddings, babies and moving to Japan), and the knowledge and reminder from the lesson that we have temple ordinances and covenants to help strengthen and fortify us through these times, made for very emotional visits this month.
My heart was sooo full!

And because I believe in paying it forward, I also shared this from my SIL, Patsy, of a wonderful summer dessert recipe.  It's on my summer bucket list to make for my family.

Summer Delight
Crust:
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Marg.
3 Tblsp. Sugar
Cut together and press into 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 min. or until lightly brown.  Cool totally.
Mix::
8oz Cream Cheese
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Cup cool whip thawed
Spread over cooled crust.
Cook 1 Pkg. raspberry flavored danish dessert as directed and add 2 Cups raspberries as instructed on the box. Fresh or frozen is fine, just follow the directions on the box, it's easy.  Danish Dessert is found near the jello in your grocery store.  Pour this raspberry mixture over cream cheese layer, refrigerate and cool while preparing next layer.
Mix
Cups milk
1 large pkg vanilla pudding
Pour over top of raspberry layer.  Refrigerate to let set up.  Before serving or before taking to a party etc.  spread additional cool whip over the top.
