Friday the 13th....

The superstition of the date goes right along with all my feelings this morning. I stayed up late last night finishing the painting project in the kitchen and dining room.... "do I like the color???, is it too bold???, is it too dark????, will Jim like it??????, where did I get all these muscles that are soar and aching??????????"

On the other end of the spectrum, I love how warm it makes the house feel. And Jim and Jacob come home today and I am sooooo excited to see them. I really was missing them last night when I went to bed.

Now the rest of the house looks so stark white compared to the warm cozy kitchen and dining room. I guess I will move into the living room on the next boys camp out! When the kitchen was all torn up from the painting project, I couldn't eat much.... that is the really good news for my diet.

By Small and Simple Things motto....

My new motto is the scripture above about Small and Simple things... I am trying not to be too hard on myself that I haven't put a big dent in the list I wanted to get done before the boys got home from Scout Camp, because the few really small things I have gotten done have been so fulfilling. And I really hope by the end of the week, all the small things I get done, will look and feel like a great thing accomplished.

I started the iron-on T-shirts and aprons for Laurels Camp, and they are turning out sooooo cute! And I was able to spend time last night training one client who is closing his business to sell things on Ebay (so I wouldn't have to do it for him... I don't mind the work, but it takes soooo much time watching the listings, I would rather spend that time this summer with Jacob) then this morning I was able to spend more time with another client and get a new company set up as an LLC (his wife actually does his books, I am just helping to train her). So that was a big part of my catching up on work that I really needed to do, but wasn't getting to it. I just have 3 more piles at home to get caught up and then I can move onto cleaning up the rest of my office.

The biggest reason I didn't get much done yesterday, was because one of the dogs was sick, I don't know which one it was, but the first time I walked through the living room and there was a dark stain (it looked like throw up, I am really hoping it wasn't from the other end, it was hard to tell and I am not sticking my nose in it... it doesn't matter to me at this point). So I am rushing both of the dogs outside and asking who it was... they just look back at me.
Morgan was eating grass and Rudy was heaving, so I have no idea which one it is, they both look suspicious.

Eventually I get the stain in the carpet scrubbed up, and let them both back inside. I make another trip to the kitchen about 10 min. later and there is another stain... I go through the entire process again, still not knowing which one it was. Get the stain cleaned up as best I can, and still neither of them show any more clear signs of who did it. Mostly they are just point to each other.

They finally quit making a mess of the carpet, but now I have to add shampooing the carpet to my list of things to do. And I surely got my fill of doggy puke (notice that is NOT on my list of things I love). And just be really grateful I DON'T have the camera this week to share photo's of the days events.
This is an older picture I have of Morgan... this is what we call "chinese eyes". This is the look you get from her, when you ask "who did this" and it was HER. She doesn't do this if it is something Rudy did. She totallly gives herself away.
Which is why I think it might have been Rudy puking, but I still can't be sure.

The List....

Well I have a big list of things I want to get done while the boys are at Scout Camp. None of which I have accomplished so far my first two days. Tomorrow is Wednesday already!!
I can't believe it.
I did pick up the paint brushes and painters tape I need to start painting my kitchen and dining room. It's not my favorite thing to do, so I keep putting it off.

I have accomplished some rest and relaxation though... I even took a short nap this afternoon watching Guarding Tess (love that movie). I think I have all my errands done, so now I only have left the list to start working on.

I have two baskets of apricots I want to make into jam, paint the kitchen and dining room, clean my office, make a shadow box for Jacob's Eagle Scout Court of Honor, make iron on transfers for t-shirts for Laurels Camp, catch up on work, and catch up the laundry.

I better get busy.... it will be Friday before I know it.

btw, Jim found his Nacho Cheese Sauce!!

The last 24 hours are a blur....

Wow, the last 24 hours are a blur...

Sunday the cousins came by on their way through going home from a family reunion. I know they were too anxious to be home, and I teased they probably only stopped by to make ME happy. But it was soooooo worth every little minute. We love them dearly!

Trenton had us laughing at his every word ~ he is so funny, and what is more funny, is that he doesn't know it and he is not trying to be funny!

Uncle Jim took him out back to expend some energy from being cooped up in the car ride. So they started out with the practice golf balls, and it was only a few minutes he said he was ready for the real golf balls, then after a few more putts, he says "Uncle Jim, you could just dig a hole over there, ya know!" Our next and coming little Tiger Woods. Against his Mom's wishes, he did get to take a couple of clubs home to keep practicing. Sorry Patsy!

It was clear they were missing their own pets at home, they all had lovin' for Morgan and Rudy.

It was great to see them all, and I cried when they left. I realized it is possibly the last time we see Brian before he goes on his mission. Brian will be a wonderful missionary!

This morning I got the boys off to Scout Camp ~ Whew!

They clean up really well, this picture is from a youth meeting we attended Sunday night.
I figured I needed the image imbedded in my brain, because they about killed each other getting the gear loaded this morning. No, it wasn't that bad... but it sure helped me say goodbye without too many tears.
Jim took the camera, so the camping adventure will have to wait until another post.
Well until later... Jim called and he can't find the gallon jug of nacho cheese, and if any of you know Jim, that is the main course for most of his meals. Uh Oh!!!!!
