General Relief Society Meeting...

Every year a General LDS Relief Society Meeting is broadcast by the Church to sisters worldwide. I always look forward to the Broadcast and greatly enjoy the words from our Prophet, Apostles, and LDS Relief Society leaders.

This year our area met before the meeting to put together Hygiene Kits for the church's Humanitarian Services.

Then they served dinner...

HAWAIIAN HAYSTACKS
2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans cream of chicken soup
1 c. chicken broth
2 c. chicken, cut up
4 c. cooked long grain rice

Combine soup and chicken broth in a medium saucepan to make gravy. Stir well to blend. Add chicken. Simmer about 8 to 10 minutes until heated through.
When serving, layer all ingredients.
First stack rice, chow mein noodles, chicken and gravy.

Add any of the following ingredients to your taste
tomatoes
celery
green pepper
onion
peas
pineapple tidbits
Cheddar cheese
sliced almonds
shredded coconut
sunflower kernels

And the meeting was wonderful... we heard from the General Relief Society Presidency of the Church, and member of the First Presidency.

They discussed tools to help us with -

How can we be Strong and Immovable...
in Faith?
in Family?
in Relief?
How can we feed the Lords Sheep?
Our service should be selfless, quiet, and willingful
Families - How we can...
Uphold, Nourish and Protect
3 Goals-
Study Diligently
Pray Earnestly
Serve Often

I have heard some ladies say they don't enjoy going to this meeting because it makes them feel guilty about what they are not getting done or falling short of... for me, I feel like it springboards me into being a better Wife, Mother, Sister, daughter and Friend!

It would be fun to come down to SLC and do these meetings together sometime with "the girls".

I wondered if they were hard to get tickets?
