Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love this time of year. The hope of renewal. Knowing my Savior died on the cross and was resurrected and He lives today, is everything! It is for my own salvation. He is the way, the truth, perfect in His love.
He is the source of comfort and the inspiration of our life.
If we want to know God better, we can go to Jesus Christ.
I feel stronger today to renew my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to know more, and to live better.
I am nervous for the next four months as "the missionary" prepares to leave. But I know it will go by quickly. We have had to work very hard to keep things peaceful in our home. It might be a surprise that during such a joyful time for a family... there would be trials, but there have been many. And they keep coming, but we have the tools to bring peace and comfort and to know how to get through them and learn from them. We know what to do and where to turn for guidance through the storms.
I loved a talk I heard at our Stake Conference broadcast yesterday from President Uchtdorf about how to walk the walk (not just talk the talk) of Kindness, Respect and Gratitude! It will probably be my triad of words to focus on for the next four months... it is exactly what I needed.
I know the separation of a teenager from their parents is normal, he wants to be gone, he wants to begin his own life and live by his own rules. It is like watching myself at his age all over again. I feel the growing pains of having to live at home. I really do. I am proud of him, he is handling it well. Much better than I did. It takes allot of patience. It takes Kindness, Respect and Gratitude to survive it. We have been given this extra time for a reason. I am so grateful to be able to cherish it and learn and grow from it through His grace.
